Taking the Reins - Women's Group

8-Week Session

Thursdays, February 15th - April 4th at 12:00 - 1:00 pm

Equine-assisted learning for veterans provides emotional, cognitive, and physical benefits. Veterans who have participated in our Taking the Reins program at The Legacy Ranch have reported that their PTSD has been alleviated and that working with the horses has increased their self-esteem. Participants will take care of and bond with their own horse, as well as work together as a team to overcome challenges and develop better skills to deal with stress, tension and fear.

Horses are prey animals and must always be on the lookout for what is safe and what may threaten them in any environment they are in, which makes them hypervigilant and alert. When the horses are given the opportunity to feel safe and trusted, their behavior and demeanor changes. Veterans have stated that they feel the horses can understand what they are going through which creates an unbreakable bond.

Please email Reena, at delaneroller@gmail.com to register for the program.

Experience is not required for this program.

These services are provided at no cost for our Veterans.

Healing Circle Meditation with Horses

Healing Circle Meditation with Horses

Join us for our monthly meditation with horses. Horses offer a deeply regulated space that engages our body, mind and spirit. They facilitate a flow and releasing of energy individually and collectively. We will circle up for a gentle guided meditation and attune our awareness to the present moment with one of our healing horses. Practicing meditation together deepens our practice and allows us to reset through embodied connection without the presence of words or external pressures. Keep what resonates for you and let the rest fall to the sand. * Depending on weather, we will be in the pasture with the herd or our private arena* No experience necessary.
